DR Parky and what to do with BBQ left overs – Blog 3 Sausage & Burger addition!!

Anyone who knows me, knows that I hate waste and I hate throwing anything away! This drives Mrs Park nuts!! But then are we not all supposed to be thinking more about the planet and our carbon foot print??

So yet again another successful BBQ (Braai) and as always rakes of leftover food. Funny that there’s never any beer left over?

Burgers are always a tricky leftover to use up. To say the least, they are an acquired taste, being cold the next day.

Having thoroughly enjoyed the leftover sausages with cheese on toast I made a few weeks ago, I thought I’d add a burger to see how that worked out.

So here’s what I did:

Slightly browned one side of the bread under the grill.

Cut some lovely mature Cheddar and placed on top of the un-browned side of the bread

I gave the cheese a strong prescription of Dr Parkys ‘Sussex Scorcher’ chilli sauce and added a little Branston pickle on top for a little added tang and crunchiness.

I then placed all this loveliness back under the grill until the cheese started to melt.

While the cheese was melting, I sliced the sausages diagonally and cut a burger into thin slices.

Place the sausage and burger strips back on the cheese, then grill until cheese is cooked to your liking.

Remove from grill, top with some coleslaw and there you go! Another taste sensation!!

What can I say?? Other than, stop throwing away food and spice up your life with one of Dr Parkys special sauces !
